Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th in 1961) is an American actress. Her work has been recognized for film and television since the late 1980s she's won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her birthplace was and raised at home in New York New York. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father at around five. She and her younger sister later moved to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett, while in high-school, saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. Yale University New Haven Connecticut in which she graduated with her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). In 1997, she was married Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980, Master in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School.
